Manager

Salaried Position 

Purpose: This position is intended for a person who is multi-disciplinary skilled in a variety of tech, production, customer service, and community engagement areas. The core responsibility is to ensure that the day-to-day operations of ConcordTV are maintained consistently, with an extra emphasis on Education Access programming.

The ideal candidate will have the required technical skills, but also be confident in working collaboratively with external stakeholders in producing deliverables in a manner that best represents the organization. It especially helps if this person already has built connections in the Concord community. 

This job description may be modified over time to fit the strengths of the person hired for this position.

Organizational Position: Reports to the Executive Director

Hours: 40 hours a week, salaried. 

Monday through Friday, specific schedule varies depending on organizational needs, with occasional weekends.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Liaison to the Concord School District and responsible for Education Access programming; including 24/7 scheduling of the cable channel, managing staff schedules for Board of Education meetings, and covering School District events as requested. 
  • In the absence of the Executive Director being responsible for running ConcordTV operations 

Training Responsibilities:

  • Teach basic video production skills to new volunteers/producers
  • Assist with video summer camps, as needed 
  • Teach a video production class open to the community, on a quarterly basis minimum 

Producer/Volunteer Coordination:

  • Work with the Executive Director in overseeing volunteer responsibilities and projects 
  • Develop and update internal production training materials (i.e. studio guide) 

 Production Responsibilities:

  • General event video coverage around Concord 
  • Technical directing in the studio
  • Video editing of community programming
  • Provide technical support for CHS Live morning announcements in the studio

 Communications and Reporting:

  • Utilize ConcordTV social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin) to promote organizational activities, consistent with ConcordTV branding guidelines
  • Prepare for and participate in regular staff meetings
  • Prepare for and participate in annual performance evaluation
  • Provide content and analytics in the creation of the station’s Annual Report
  • Prepare summary staff report of key activities for presentation at the monthly Board of Directors’ meetings
  • Prepare brief verbal reports for community presentations, as needed

 Other Responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement basic troubleshooting concepts with ConcordTV tech/equipment 
  • Be available, helpful and courteous to all clients regarding their use of Concord Community TV’s facilities and equipment
  • Find more efficient ways to do the job and seek to reduce costs and improve productivity
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members, Board of Directors and clients to ensure the success of Concord Community TV
  • Know, understand and support the organization’s mission statement, policies and procedures
  • Keep up-to-date on local news in Concord 
  • Fully understand the concept of PEG media and be a strong advocate for our industry
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Experience: At least 3 years of experience in PEG media, video broadcasting, client-based video production, non-profit marketing and/or management, or other relevant field.
